Growing Hyacinths - A Hands2Help Charilty Quilt

I didn't want to post about these Hands2Help Charity Quilt Challenge quilts until they were completely finished but since today is the deadline for linking up to the linky party, I'm going ahead today and showing them to you, even though they are not 100% done.
Confessions Of A Fabric Addict
I started out with 2 Grow With Me charm packs.
I followed the speedy quick Charm Squares Baby Quilt tutorial by Oh! Frannson and this is what I ended up with. I'm calling it Growing Hyacinths because that is the name of the shade of Purple Moda solid that I used plus I don't know of a single little girl who hasn't at some point in her growing years had an obsession with everything Purple. It is almost like a right of girlhood passage.
This is the very 1st quilt that I quilted on my longarm Penelope but this one was done pre-upgrade. I did a simple freehand swirls and loops and while it certainly isn't perfect, it works. I was surprised by the thread color I ended up choosing. I used Glide in Cool Gray 3.
The Gray thread really worked the best for blending with the majority of the fabrics while still showing the quilting a little. The subtle sheen of the thread adds just a tiny bit of sparkle in the sunlight.
For the backing I used the baby footprints fabric from the Grow With Me line.
Yes this quilt isn't 100% complete as I still need to finish hand sewing the binding onto the back but that will get done today while I ride in the car on the way to a family wedding. Then it will get washed so that it is nice and soft and will be sent on its way to its new owner. I'm linking up today with the Hands2Help linky party and Sarah's Friday Whoop Whoop linky party.
.
I'm also linking up to the Finish It Up Friday, TGIFF, Link-A-Finish Friday, Fabric Frenzy Friday and Show Off Saturday linky parties.
