The "Un-Round" Robin

The groups for the Modern Mini Mystery Round Robin are set and everyone has been emailed their list.

I learned something very valuable while setting up the groups. If I did it as a traditional Round Robin, than each participant would mail to the same person each month. Not only isn't that as much fun, but if there are international players, those that ship to them (at least from the US) have much higher postage costs than the others. And that would just not do.

So now I feel that this is more accurately an "Un-Round" Robin because the way I worked it out, each member will still work on a different mini each month but they will also mail the piece they worked on to someone different in the group. And there is no way that the members can figure out where there piece is any point on its journey. More mystery, more fun. I love to keep people guessing. And the master lists are being guarded by Guido!

I ended up with 4 groups. 30 quilters signed up and a couple offfered to do 2 so when all is said and done, we'll have 32 beautiful Modern Minis to show off. I can't wait. Can you?

I'll definitely be hosting another one of these sometime in the future. As i said in my last post, I am most definitely ATO!

Super excited Michele. Can't wait to get things going. Are you posting how big the first border plans to be or is the 1 - 2" guideline up to the individual??

Totally up to you what you add as long as it is no more than 2" finished. Whatever you feel it needs. Have fun with it.

I've got my block finished and ready to mail off.
I did a block completely out of my comfort zone, LOL.
I figured if we're doing a mini, might as well make it memorable.
I'm going to include a card with mine asking everyone to leave their name and where they're from. I think it would be so cool to know where it was.

I'm trying to think of what to do for my center block. Hmm...

That is part of the idea Lisa, to do something different and by keeping it small it won't become overwhelming for anyone.

I've already got pages in my quilting scrapbook journal for my cards and the pictures.

Why not pop over to Quiters Cache and look at the 6" finished blocks to get some ideas? Perhaps one of them would spark your interest.
