I want to share what I sent to my Secret Pal Judy who blogs over at Knotty Needle. Now that I know she received the box, I can reveal what I made for her.
She recently moved from North Carolina to Montana and it has been fun stalking her blog and learning about her adventures.
These are the goodies that I packed in her box.
Judy is getting her new sewing space set up so I decided to make her a scrap bag/pincushion. This was my first time sewing something that wasn't a quilt or quilt block and I'm very happy with the way it turned out. I used fabrics from Kate Spain's Fandango line. The pouch under the scrap bag had slots to hold a seam ripper, thread snips, etc. I'm definitely going to make one of these for myself. I also found the small cross stitch kit and since Judy likes sunflowers, it seemed so appropriate for her.
I also did a little cross stitching myself, the little wall handing item on the left. She is a gardener so this also seemed perfect for her. The little bag on the right I picked up at Vietnamese Culture Camp over the summer. It is hand stitched and if you've ever seen the work done by the Vietnamese women, your jaw would drop. It is beyond fabulous. Sometime I'll have to share pictures of the table set I bought when we were in ho Chi Minh City.
Lastly I picked up this box of note cards a pen to go with it.
I had a blast putting this goodie box together for Judy and sharing some sisterly quilter's love. And that was the whole intent from the start. I got the idea from the Secret Pal swap I participated in for 2 years while we were waiting to bring Sunshine home and the friends I made through that will last a lifetime. I know this swap will do the same...making quilting friends forever.
